『3K』 stands for "KITSUI(hard)/KIKEN(dangerous)/KITANAI(dirty)". Construction industry unfortunately has those negative images. However, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism now days is leading the industry to wipe away the negative images and to shift the image to positive sides of 『New 3K』.

『New 3K』stands for "KYUURYOU(wages)/KYUUKA(holidays)/KIBOU(hope).

"KYUURYOU(wages)"
Visualization of individuals' experiences and skills as well as respecting efforts to commit to prioritize estimations of labor expenses, therefore everyone is evaluated evenly and properly at any company they work for.

"KYUUKA(holidays)"
The industry is working to insure 2 days off (holidays) in a week for each worker by managing time schedule in advanced and setting an assessment of a manager to be evaluated by the percentage of paid leave taken by workers.

"KIBOU(hope)"
It is promoted to create working environment for female workers and international workers publishing the numbers of ICT constructions promoted and order outlook in advanced as well as promoting skills and flexible working styles.

The details above mentioned are basically introducing statement of some companies and industrial objectives. However, as upper limit regulation of overtime work is established from April 2024 by Work Style Reform, ensuring a flexible and safe working environment is demanded.
