Now days, women are actively and successfully working and the number if career women is increasing since working opportunities and possibilities have increased as it became more flexible than before. However, the number is women are still low in construction industry. It is a fact that the industry has the image for men as it has a certain number of physical operations. And also, parents rising a child seem to seek for a job with flexibilities. Therefore, a job in the industry is sadly not an option to many parents, especially women. However, we provide support of a baby-sitter and flexible working hours if you need, so please let us hear what you want and how you want to work before giving up.
Today, we introduce a female formwork carpenter who is actively working with us. Here is what we interviewed.

『The reason I jumped into this industry was that I thought those professional people looked so very cool. Back in the days, they ware “Knickerbockers” which is a pair of pants majorly used by construction workers. When I was at younger age, I wanted to wear them for some reasons. They were expensive but I worked hard to buy them for my own. When I finally bought them, they weren’t that comfortable, and they were hard to move. It’s funny how great it looked in my eyes back then. I threw them and bought a new pair.』
『When I had a child, I left this job. And once it settled a bit, I decided to come back. This job requires physically and healthy body, and to keep it maintained isn’t easy as you know if you have experienced. But it’s surely exiting to see a building constructed from nothing and it’s us creating and assuring the safety of the building. I am proud of that for sure.』

『Construction sites now days are expected to provide restrooms and changing rooms for women. So, it’s a lot comfortable to work for us compared to before. I believe that as the number of us become bigger the more the environment would be improved.』
